This flower's texture made me think of heat pressed polyesters like Issey Miyake as well as the use of tie dye to get the blue and white contrast. This could be achieved with tie dye experiments, digital print design and a heat press.

Poppies make great inspiration for a printed fabric. I've seen some fantastic repeats in womenswear and childrenswear too.

According to Gardeners World there is a Lilly which flowers at almost every time of year.

Lots of sunshine and some plant food has made my pansies very happy.

The bright sunlight made it possible for me to get this shot with my phone. I'm really pleased with the focus on the foreground and blurred background too. The blue sky really sets off the whole photo- making it bright and cheery.

Love In The Mist. This was my Grandma's favourite flower. It really suits it's name and my Grandmar too. The word love really epitomised her. She projected love and happiness wherever she went.

The circles of each petal from this flower make me think of geometry patters that originated from nature. I shall have to look out for a sunflower to photograph the pattern the seeds make.

Bind weed flowers look like gramophones to me. I'd like to experiment with this in an illustration.

There are cherries growing on one of the trees at our school!

These Bumblebees were really enjoying the Lavender.

I don't usually put abstract photos up but sometimes they enhance a flower. In this case it shows off the soft yellow to pink umbrella of this rose. It also highlights the layering of the petals and makes me feel like I am so close I can actually smell it's mesmerising perfume.

The great thing about this blog is that I am learning the names of the plants I photograph. This is St. John's Wort or if you're feeling a bit fancy: Hypericum.
9th June
Well this was an unusual London, front garden find. A flowering Waterlilly in a large, steel, water trough!

Today is Election Day. On my way back from the poling station I found this bottle brush tree. An absolutely crazy plant which happens to be the colour of the party I voted for. Let's hope for an unexpected win too.
