Today I found a secret park in Spitalfields called Elder Gardens. I also found a different coloured version of the poppy bush which I posted earlier this month.

The colours and the blending of the hues within the Primula flowers inspire Me to create floral fabrics for children's dresses.

Phew, it's been a scorcher today. It feels like summer has arrived. Roses are definitely the flower for this season.

I have been appreciating this yellow rose, on the way back from work every day for a couple of weeks. I have finally photographed it. This photograph reminds me how fun it is to play with perspective as I have focused on the Rose's leaves here (deliberately 😉). Making the background the foreground by swopping the focus and detail on the background. The blurred rose here looks like it is shining brightly too which I like.

Today James cut back the Aliums so they put their energy into their bulbs rather than going to seed. I was a bit sad to see them go as they looked great in the pot but James surprised me by giving them to me to put in a varse and it turns out they look even better there.

I found this Clematis in a little garden outside an old people's home near where I live. This garden has provided me with a lot of joy. I hope the people in the home enjoy it to.

Here's an interesting silluette which I spotted on the way back from the park. I'm always pleased to get blue sky as a background.

I love finding fallen petals and leaf patterns. They are great fun to rework their colour, size and fluency. There are a lot of designs to be made from a signed photo like this.

This is a leaf from one of my disiduous furns. They look incredible in the summer, filling the garden with lush foliage.

My friend had a baby called Jasmine this week and my Climbing Jasmine is looking the best it's ever been.

My Arun Lilly is the show stopper of my garden. It is the subject of many pieces of art too.

After my run this morning I walked to cool down and saw this awesome Red Hot Poker.
12th May
As I walked into the road where I live I could smell a soft, scent of rose. I stopped to smell the bloom. Nothing beats the smell of a garden rose.

All the leaves are catching the rays. Summer is just beginning. These long days are full of optimism for the months ahead.
10th May
The flower was reminds me of my friend's wedding in Brittany as this was the first time I had seen it.

I like the way the colours of these flowers blend. You can use flowers like paint. Dark colours can be used to add shade and depth. Whilst different colours can be mixed to blend into one colour akin to pointillism.
8th May
I don't recall ever seeing yellow poppies before so I was excited to find these at Regents Park.

Different types off grass are fascinating. My parents have place matts with laminated dried grasses. They make great prints if dipped in die/paint and can also be used as a mask when pigment is painted onto paper and pressed on top so that the colour prints around them.

Today I went to a roof top garden on the Southbank. I met my friend Jen who I hadn't seen for ages and I found these beauties too.

Pretty pleased with this Aquilegia photo. The yellow and green verigated ivy make a great background for the purple flower.
